Ultrasonic vibration milling is a kind of pulse milling from a microscopic point of view. In a vibration cycle, the effective milling time of the tool is very short, and the tool is completely separated from the workpiece and chips more than 80% of the time. The tool is in intermittent contact with the workpiece and chips, which reduces the friction of the tool, greatly reduces the heat generated, and significantly reduces the milling force, which avoids the “give the tool” phenomenon in ordinary milling, and does not produce chip edge . Using this kind of vibration milling, precision machining can be performed on ordinary machine tools. The geometric tolerances such as roundness, cylindricity, flatness, parallelism, and straightness are mainly determined by the accuracy of the machine tool spindle and guide rail, and can reach close to zero error. It is possible to replace grinding by turning, reaming by drilling, and grinding by milling. Compared with high-speed hard milling, it does not require high machine rigidity and does not damage the surface metallographic structure of the workpiece.
