The return of the extremely popular ETX takes mobile astronomy to the next level. This 80mm aperture and 400mm (f/5) focal length marry the portability of the ETX with Meade’s premium optics. The ETX80 Observer has a Achromatic Refractor optical design to enjoy close-up views of land and celestial objects anytime, anwhere. Packing your telescope and tripod at a moment’s notice is a breeze with the comfortable and durable (INCLUDED) backpack. The ETX80 Observer also includes a lightweight and portable tripod with dual-fork mount. This model has an internal flip mirror to let light focus to the rear of the telescope (instead of the mirror reflecting the light 90-degrees to the eyepiece), allowing attachment of a camera on the back of the scope – adapters sold separately. The ETX80 Observer also comes with a bubble level/compass to help with leveling the tripod and mount, as well as a dew shield to help prevent any dew buildup and to block stray light.
